Always have a used motorcycle inspected by a qualified technician before you buy it. A Cold Start Report helps you know what to look for. It does not replace putting eyes and hands on the bike.
Research, not an inspection
A Cold Start Report describes issues that are known to affect a model and year in general. We have not seen, ridden or inspected the specific motorcycle you're considering. A bike may have none of the issues listed, or problems that aren't listed, depending on its age, mileage, maintenance, modifications and how it's been ridden and stored.
How reports are made
Reports are generated using our own knowledge base built from decades of experience with Harley-Davidson motorcycles, combined with artificial intelligence (AI) tools and publicly available information. AI-assisted content can contain mistakes. If something in your report doesn't match what you see on the bike, trust the bike and a qualified technician.
Recalls
Recall information is gathered from public sources and may be incomplete or out of date. Always confirm open recalls for the specific motorcycle by entering its VIN at nhtsa.gov/recalls, or by asking a Harley-Davidson dealer.
Price information
Price comparisons are based on listings found at the time your report is generated. They're a reference point for negotiating, not an appraisal. Actual value depends on condition, location, options and the market.
Not a history report
We don't check title status, liens, theft records, accident history or odometer records. Use a vehicle history service for those.
Repairs and safety
Any repair or inspection guidance in a report is general information. Motorcycle work can be dangerous. Have repairs done by a qualified technician, and follow the manufacturer's service manual.
