Privacy Policy
Effective October 2, 2026
The short version: we collect what we need to make and deliver your report. We don't sell your information, and we don't use advertising trackers.
1. Who we are
Cold Start Report operates coldstartreport.com. Questions about this policy go to support@coldstartreport.com.
2. What we collect
- Vehicle details you enter: year, model, VIN, mileage, asking price, and any seller listing text you paste in.
- Contact details: your email address, collected at checkout so we can send your report, or when you join a waitlist for models we don't cover yet.
- Payment information: handled by Stripe. We receive confirmation of payment, your email and limited details such as the last four digits of your card, but never your full card number.
- Technical information: our hosting provider automatically records basic server logs, such as IP address, browser type and pages requested, for security and reliability.
Please don't put personal information about yourself or the seller, such as phone numbers or addresses, in the listing text box. It isn't needed for the report.
3. How we use it
- To generate your report and deliver it to you
- To process and verify payment, and to prevent fraud and duplicate charges
- To answer support requests and handle refunds
- To let you know when coverage for a model you asked about becomes available, if you joined a waitlist
- To keep the site secure and working
We don't use your information for advertising, and we don't send marketing emails unless you asked for them.
4. Who we share it with
We share information only with the service providers needed to run Cold Start Report:
- Stripe, to process payments
- Anthropic, whose AI models help generate report content from the vehicle details you enter
- Resend, to email your report
- Render, which hosts the website and our servers
These providers handle data under their own privacy policies and only for the purpose of providing their service. We may also disclose information if required by law. We do not sell or rent your personal information.
5. Cookies and browser storage
We don't use advertising or analytics cookies. While you check out, your browser temporarily stores the vehicle details you entered so they're still there when you return from Stripe. That data stays in your browser and is cleared when the report is generated or you close the tab. Stripe may use its own cookies on its checkout pages for security and fraud prevention.
Sponsored links. Reports and report emails may include cards from sponsors, labeled "Sponsored." When you click one, we count the click (which sponsor and whether it came from the website or email) and then send you to the sponsor's site. We don't share your email, your vehicle details or your report with sponsors. Once you're on a sponsor's site, their privacy policy applies.
6. How long we keep it
We keep order records, such as your email, the vehicle details and payment confirmation, for as long as needed to support your purchase, handle refunds, and meet tax and accounting requirements. Waitlist emails are kept until the coverage launches or you ask to be removed.
7. Your choices
You can ask us to access, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you by emailing support@coldstartreport.com. We may need to keep certain records where the law requires it. You can also ask to be removed from any waitlist at any time.
8. Security
We use reputable providers and encrypted connections (HTTPS) to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, but we take reasonable steps to keep your data safe.
9. Children
Cold Start Report is meant for adults buying motorcycles. We don't knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has given us information, contact us and we'll delete it.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The effective date at the top shows when it last changed.
